High Pressure Water Jetting in Glasgow

High pressure water jetting is the most effective method available for clearing a blocked drain or giving a drain a proper deep clean. A hose with a specialist jetting nozzle is fed into the drain from an access point, manhole, gully or cleanout, and water is pumped through it at up to 4,000 PSI. That pressure is enough to cut through hardened grease, strip scale from pipe walls, break up root mass and flush all of it completely out of the drain run. Not just through it. Out of it.

The difference between jetting and the alternatives matters. A drain snake or manual rods poke a hole through the middle of a blockage and allow water to flow again temporarily. The blockage is still there, just smaller, and it rebuilds within weeks. Supermarket chemical drain cleaners soften the surface of a grease blockage, push a fraction of it through and leave the rest to harden again. High pressure jetting removes the material from the pipe entirely and cleans the bore back to its original diameter. That is why a drain that gets jetted stays clear for far longer than one that has been rodded or chemically treated.

ClearFlow uses professional trailer-mounted and van-mounted jetting equipment across Glasgow and the surrounding area. David and Chris jet household drains, commercial kitchen lines, shared sewer runs and everything in between. Same-day service, fixed price, and a drain that is properly clean when they leave.

Signs you need high pressure water jetting

  • Drain that keeps blocking every few weeks despite being cleared by rodding or chemicals

  • Slow draining sinks, toilets or outside drains that have not fully cleared after previous treatment

  • Grease or fat build-up in a kitchen waste pipe that is causing recurring blockages

  • Scale or mineral deposit narrowing the bore of older cast-iron or clay pipes

  • Root ingress in an outside drain run that needs cutting and flushing out

  • Shared sewer line that multiple properties are connected to and has not been cleaned in years

  • Commercial kitchen drain that is slow or smelling despite regular use of drain treatments

  • Pre-planned maintenance clean for a landlord, letting agent or commercial property manager

Our process

  1. 1

    Call or message us

Speak to David or Chris directly. Tell us which drain needs jetting, whether it is blocked or a maintenance clean, and the best access point. We confirm the price before we travel.

  2. 2

    Price confirmed in writing

You get the price by text or email before the engineer sets off. Zero call-out fee, no extras on the invoice.

  3. 3

    On site same day

For urgent or emergency callouts we aim to be with you in 15 to 45 minutes. Planned maintenance jets are booked at a time that suits you.

  4. 4

    Jet the full drain run

We feed the jetting hose into the drain from the best access point and work through the full run, using the right nozzle for the job. Penetrating nozzles for solid blockages, rotary nozzles for scale and grease on pipe walls, root cutting nozzles for ingress. The water and all the material it dislodges is flushed out of the drain completely.

  5. 5

    Inspect and confirm

We flush the drain and confirm full flow. On planned maintenance cleans we recommend a CCTV camera pass after jetting to confirm the pipe is clear end to end and note the condition of the pipework for future reference.

Common causes

What High Pressure Jetting Removes from Your Drains

Jetting works on a wider range of drain problems than any other single clearing method. Here is what we remove from drains across Glasgow every week.

Hardened grease and fat

The number one cause of recurring drain blockages in both domestic kitchens and commercial food premises. Grease solidifies inside the pipe at room temperature and catches everything else that passes through. Jetting at 4,000 PSI strips it from the pipe wall completely. Rodding and chemicals leave it there.

Mineral scale on older pipework

Cast-iron and clay pipes in Glasgow's older properties accumulate calcium and mineral scale on their interior walls over decades. The bore narrows year by year until flow is severely restricted. Jetting removes the scale layer and restores the original bore diameter.

Root ingress

Tree roots that have grown into a drain through a cracked joint are broken up by the high pressure jet and flushed out of the run. This is combined with a rotary root cutter head on heavy root infestations. After root jetting we recommend a CCTV check to assess the joint that allowed entry.

Silt, leaves and debris in outside drains

Outside drain runs accumulate silt, leaves and organic debris, particularly in autumn. Jetting flushes the full run from gully or manhole to the sewer, clearing accumulated material that builds up at low points and bends in the pipe.

Soap scum and shower gel residue

Bathroom waste pipes accumulate soap and shower gel residue on their internal walls, which catches hair and accelerates blockages. Jetting cleans the full pipe bore and extends the time between blockages significantly.

General build-up in shared sewer runs

Shared sewer lines in tenement closes and HMOs accumulate years of material from multiple properties. A planned jet of the shared run at regular intervals prevents the kind of heavy blockage that causes manholes to surcharge.

Good news: every one of these has a clean, proven fix, and we'll show you exactly what we found.

Why choose ClearFlow

Local and owner-run

David and Chris run ClearFlow from Glasgow and carry out every jetting job themselves. You speak to the engineer on the phone, not a scheduler.

Professional jetting equipment

There is a significant difference between a domestic pressure washer and a professional drain jetter running at 4,000 PSI. We carry the professional kit on every van.

£5M+ public liability

Fully insured on every jetting job, domestic and commercial. Certificate available on request.

Full bore clean, not a quick flush

We jet the full drain run from access point to sewer, not just the area around the blockage. The pipe is genuinely clean when we leave.

Right nozzle for the job

Penetrating nozzle, rotary nozzle, root cutter. We use the right head for what is in the pipe. A one-nozzle approach does not suit every job.

Planned maintenance available

We schedule planned jetting for landlords, letting agents, commercial properties and anyone who wants to prevent blockages before they happen.

Our Jetting Equipment

Professional van-mounted and trailer-mounted high pressure water jetters running at up to 4,000 PSI and high flow rates. This is the equipment drainage contractors use, not a domestic pressure washer adapted for drain use. The pressure and flow rate together are what clean the pipe walls rather than just flushing material through the bore.

Specialist jetting nozzles for each application. Penetrating forward-facing nozzles for cutting into blockages. Rotary chain nozzles for heavy grease and scale deposits on pipe walls. Root cutting nozzles for tree root ingress in outside drain runs. Expanding nozzles for inspecting pipe bore during the jetting process. The right nozzle makes the difference between a clean pipe and a temporarily cleared one.

HD CCTV cameras are available on every van to inspect the drain after jetting. On planned maintenance cleans we recommend running the camera after the jet to confirm the pipe is clear and to document the current condition of the pipework for future reference.

Transparent pricing

No call-out fee. You only pay if you go ahead with the work, and the price is confirmed in writing before we start. No extra charges for specialist nozzles, long drain runs or shared sewer jetting.

Same-day and emergency jetting is priced the same as planned maintenance jetting. No premium for urgency, evenings or weekends.

Planned maintenance jetting contracts for commercial properties and landlords are available at reduced rates. Ask us when you call.

Fixed price agreed before any work starts.

"I had major issues with my drainage caused by ground movement. The ground had to be dug up and a new drainage system put in. This was done efficiently and to a very high standard, the workmen were legends, absolutely brilliant. My slabs were all put back exactly as they were before. I highly recommend this company."
